The Methods of therapeutic evaluation of chronic diseases team (METHODS) is part of the Centre of Research in Epidemiology and StatisticS – CRESS (Université de Paris). This team plans to rethink the therapeutic evaluation of chronic diseases, propose new concepts and develop new methodological approaches along the following axes: 1) Methods for evaluating therapeutic innovations and in particular non-pharmacological treatments, 2) New methods in evidence synthesis, 3) Personalised medicine and artificial intelligence, and 4) Meta-research. Only a few teams at the international level explore the specific methodological aspects posed by the evaluation of interventions modifying microbiotas. The METHODS team is internationally renowned for its work in methodology

and the design of clinical trials for both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, especially complex interventions. The METHODS team focuses on issues related to the reproducibility of faecal microbiota transplantation in clinical trials.
